Two year exemption on property registration fees
With the new government exemption, Property buyers can save up to €11,500 euros on land register and lien registration fees.
The property value limit for the exemption is up to €500.000, This is a very good inducement for first time buyers particularly to get on the property ladder. As the property must stay as main residence for 5 years and also before any resale. It is certainly a good way to keep the property market stable.
The application for property registration in the land register is between the 1st July 2024 and the 1st July 2026. The exemption from fees therefore applies temporarily for those two years.
So, we feel that there might be a buying spree coming along in the next months!
